| Behind the scenes - prestige photos AEZ | ||
Table of contents
The first ideas for the advertising campaign 2006/2007 were written down in a storyboard. Based upon it a concept was created and six subjects were drafted altogether. To achieve impressive photos it is necessary to plan everything in detail before taking the actual pictures. |

| Preparations A location scout chose the scenery for the photo shooting on the basis of the stated demands by AEZ and took care of the required permissions by authority. The AEZ team looked that the members of the crew were in place, consisting of a photographer (http://www.alschner.com), model, stylist, technician and several assistants. Additionally they organized necessary objects like cars and wheels. |

The appropriate setting Montepulciano (http://www.montepulciano.com/) and Montalcino in the Tuscany (Italy) were chosen as locations for the prestige photos 2006. These places are well known for a beautiful landscape and tasty wine. Nearly all big car manufacturers have taken photos of their vehicles there. |

Light and shadows The optimal time of day for shooting photos outside is strongly light-dependant. As a rule of thumb you can say that the light is optimal between 10-11 a.m. and shortly before dawn. Large mirrors were positioned to reflect the light as desired. If everything goes as planned, the photos of a scene are taken in one day. Despite detailed preparations you can become handicapped by bad weather. Then you don’t know how long you will have to wait until you can finish work. |
| Secret tricks The cars were lowered by putting water containers in the trunk, weighing a 100 kgs. each. Baby oil was used to give the model´s legs a shiny appearance. The shoes of the model were masked with insulating tape to avoid having footprints on the underground. Onlookers had to be kept away by placing barriers all around the locations. Publishing the images After all the photos had been taken the AEZ team made a selection of the best ones and forwarded them to the lithography. Finally the images were ready for publishing in the media and on the Internet. |
